1999 'PanDaemonAeon'
Quite simply a phenomenon, Cradle Of Filth have amassed half a million record sales so far and even entered the American Billboard video chart with a bullet at #12 when their long-form video 'PanDaemonAeon' was released in October 1999.  Cradle Of Filth are now poised to completely vanquish the netherworld.

From their humble beginnings in 1991, nurtured by their witch-hunting and majestical Suffolk surroundings in England, Cradle Of Filth have built themselves an empire and a world-wide loyal fan base that just increases with each release.  Four albums, one video, an E.P., and six heroin overdoses later, Cradle Of Filth have toured the world, including, America, Japan, Australia, Europe and Russia, converting a legion of followers with their dark, unholy and blood-curdling savage heaviness.

Drawing from an incredibly infinite list of influences, including the likes of Bathory, Celtic Frost and Diamanda Galas, and also the literary genius of Lord Byron, Sheridan LeFabu, Friedrich Nietzsche, Bram Stoker and Charles Baudelaire, Cradle Of Filth have produced albums of ever increasing quality that envelop you and take you away into the darkest depths of the collective Cradle mind. A dreamlike place full of legends, myths and vampires. Famed for their exotic and extravagant live shows featuring chained and caged dancing fetish girls, fountains of blood and walls of fire, the band headlined the Milwaukee Metal Festival in 1999. Cradle Of Filth's appearance was besieged by accusations of 'Bringing the devils music to the town and the state'. The governor of Wisconsin actually took the promoter to court forcing the festival to take place in an indoor venue. Cultivating controversy, Cradle Of Filth have, over the years, been arrested at the Vatican for wearing 'I Love Satan' T-shirts and attacked for holding guns in photographs. Their fans have also been arrested and fined for wearing the band's, cult status T-shirt which displays the slogan 'Jesus Is A C**t'. It was this same T-shirt that caused the president of the Catholic League of New York to urge the band to withdraw the offensive item from sale.

The band was awarded a much-coveted Kerrang! Award for Best British Live Act in 1998, and have since found themselves nominated each year alongside such acts as Marilyn Manson, Black Sabbath, Korn and Metallica. Never threatening to disown their roots for success, their music is becoming harsher and the promotion more provocative. Their current release, 'Midian', is no exception. Produced by John Fryer (Nine Inch Nails, HIM) the album features Doug Bradley who starred as 'Pinhead' and Lylesburg in the massively successful 'Hellraiser' and 'Nightbreed' movies. 'Midian' is awash with maniacal, soaring, gloriously operatic metal masterpieces whose titles include: 'Tortured Soul Asylum', 'Lord Abortion', 'Saffron's Curse' and 'Death Magick For Adepts'.

Although not a concept album, 'Midian' is inspired by the apostate kingdom of the Old Testament and the refuge of Clive Barker's famed novel and film 'Nightbreed'. The title of the album is the name of the fictional Underworld City featured in 'Nightbreed' and Clive Barker himself approved its usage. Reflecting the title and inspiration for the album, artwork for 'Midian' has been provided by the American master of disturbing fantasy/horror art, J.K.Potter. Combining art and photography J.K. Potter creates images with an intensely dark psychological vision that is as horrifying as it is beautiful. With their last E.P. 'From The Cradle To Enslave' slaughtering rock charts all over the world, Cradle Of Filth only have the future left to conquer. Enter 'Midian'...
